How did that make you feel?
Yet when life presents you with challenges, how comfortable are you at asking for help?
Sadly, most people are ‘ashamed’ to ask or have had it drilled into them that asking for help shows ‘weakness’ or been told over and over “Don’t be a burden.”

CJ’s Life with ME
In May 2012, I went to bed seemingly healthy, only to wake up feeling unwell. I has never recovered. What was initially a virus morphed into an neuro-immune disease called Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. This illness has left me bed bound most of the day which means holding a traditional job is impossible. That said, I is an award winning International Keynote Speaker, a Reinvention & Resilience Coach, Owner of Beyond{dis}, a #1 International Best-Selling author, a Founder of START OVER MOVEMENT HOLDINGS LTD, The Creator and Producer of {dis}ABILITIES Unleashed, a Certified Chief Well-Being Officer, a Singer/Songwriter, and so much more!
“Choose to live Joyfully within the tempest of adversity.”

What is Myalgic Encephalomyelitis?
According to the CDC, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) is a biological illness that affects many body parts. It causes severe fatigue not improved by rest, problems thinking and sleeping, dizziness, pain, and many other symptoms.
People with ME may not look sick but can’t do their normal activities. ME may get worse after they do any activity — physical or mental. This symptom is called post-exertional malaise (PEM). After they exert themselves, they may need to stay in bed for an extended time. About 1 in 4 people with ME are confined to bed at some point in their illness.
It is difficult to diagnose because there is no specific test for. One reason that people with ME have not been diagnosed may be limited access to healthcare. Another reason may be a lack of healthcare providers who know about ME and how to recognize it.
The 4 main symptoms of ME are:
Symptoms getting worse after physical or mental activity, and possibly taking weeks to get better (also called post-exertional malaise, or PEM).
Feeling extremely tired all the time (fatigue), which can make daily activities like taking a shower, or going to work or school, difficult.
Sleep problems, including insomnia, sleeping too much, feeling like you have not slept properly and feeling exhausted or stiff when you wake up. Problems with thinking, concentration and memory (brain fog).
